Visit Akagera National Park for Wildlife, African Big Fives

The Park is found in the North-Eastern parts of the country at the border with Tanzania and it is a two hours and thirty minutes drive from Kigali driving on the good and clean tarmac roads of Rwanda.
The Park is a habitant to all Africa’s big five which include; African Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Rhinos and Leopards of which every African tourist could like to view such special species in Africa.
The Park is still a better place to view other wildlife species such as; Masai giraffes, elands, Topis, monkeys, hyenas, bush babies and others.
The Park has got many attractive features that a tourist will visit and enjoy their views of which Akagera River is one of the major attractions in the Park plus the many lakes where this River flows however the major lake is Lake Ihema.
Lake Ihema is a habitant to large numbers of Crocodiles and Hippos plus a tourist will also enjoy the boat safaris at the Lake.
A variety of activities can be done from the Park such as bird watching; for the birders, the Park is one of the best Parks to enjoy the birding activity since it is home to over 520 bird species.

The Park entrance fee for Akagera is US$ 40 and all activities in the Park are accompanied by trained Park guides.
