Lake Mburo National Park

Visit Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda for Wildlife

 

The Park is nestled in western Uganda within the district of Kiruhura situated about 240km away from Uganda’s capital and largest city (Kampala).

The Park is one of the most spectacular places in Uganda and for tourists who want to view large numbers of various antelope species this should be your option. More dominant in the Park are the Impalas, Warthogs, Elands, Jackals, Sitatunga, Gonalek, Defassa, Oribis, Giraffes, zebras, Waterbucks and Reedbucks. Other residents include buffaloes, Leopards, hyenas, and lions which have just recently returned back to the Park.

The Park is the smallest of savanna national parks in Uganda but consisting of five lakes thus hosting the Nile crocodiles and hippopotamuses and providing an interesting activity of boat cruises.

Over 332 bird species are also resided in the Park including shoebill storks, cormorant fish eagles, herons, pelicans and many more. Accommodations in the Park include; Mantana tented camp, Mihingo safari lodge, Mburo safari lodge, Arcadia cottages, Rwakobo rock, Eagle’s Nest, Rwonyo rest camp among others.
