The reserve lies in the northeast of Congo near the borders with Uganda and South Sudan and it is situated at a total area of 14,000 square kilometers of the Ituri forest thus covering one-fifth of the forest.
The reserve has three rivers which flow their waters into it and these are; Ituri River, Epulu River, and Nepoko River. The Reserve is mostly dominated by many Okapis which are 5000 animals plus over 4000 elephants and 2000 leopards all which a tourist’s visit to the Park so great because he or she will view a very large number of animals.
Other residents in the reserve include; Crocodiles, chimpanzees, buffaloes, and over 300 bird species. On your cultural encounters you will meet the Mbuti and Efe pygmies, among the last true ‘’forest people’’ left on earth who live within the reserve and will offer you an amazing time with them.
